Can you believe this...

Can you believe this...

Today at work this lady told me she went to a wedding at Fox Hollow (she said it was beautiful ) and she said that she decided to take her daughter instead of her husband b/c he didnt really feel like going.

What would you do if a 3 year old showed up in place of her father? I think it's kinda rude to bring a child you dont know if they want children at the wedding.

I could understand her bringing her daughter instead of her husband IF her daughter was an adult or at least a mature adolescent. But a toddler!! No way, that's not cool!!

the lady thought it was funny she's like 'She thought she was at Cinderella's wedding with Prince Charming' I would be so annoyed if I paid for a plate and a child showed up

Why not? It's her daughter........
Well first of all did she ask?
Asking would be the appropiate thing to do and most considerate.
But I know if I was the Bride, I wouldn't care b/c my mind would be on everything else!!!! I would be so busy and occupied that I wouldn't even notice.
I am sure the Mom had the three year old in control and nothing got out of hand. There are so many other things to stress, that should be the least. You let the little things fall through the cracks. Since she replied two, she brought 2. Things happen.
I would just feel bad for the parents that had to get sitters for the night and who couln't bring their kids. That would be my only arguement.

Of course the little kid said that, what do ytou think that is like for them? They are AMAZED with stuff like that. She's a baby....and everything they see and experience is all new ti them!!!! She was in awh! I am sure the kid really thought it was like Cinderella!!!!
And I am sure the Mother's gift to the Bride was the same amount had she brought her husband.
Kids go nuts over stuff liek that. As long as I get a gift (selfish as it sounds) than who cares?

however, I do agree it's rude IF she didn't ask.
It's just polite and considerate to ask the person if it would be ok.

I personally would not care! You already spent so much money. You have so much going on that day, a little kid wouldn't bother me, unless they were out of control.

Its kind of weird for someone to bring a 3 year old to a wedding. You couldn't have much fun.

That's rude!!!
I can see bringing your daughter thats a teenager not a 3-yr old. People do whatever they want. It's crazy!!!!!!!

I am the only one who diagrees. I don't see it as it being a big deal. Do you think it stopped the bride from having the time of her life...I seriously doubt it!!!!
I do agree that it was rude, if she didn't ask.

i don't think there's anything wrong with it, as long as the child was well-behaved and kept out of the way. i'd rather she bring a child than come alone! at least someone ate food!

my aunt brought her son to another cousin's wedding. he was like 14 and his father had to work at the last minute. nothing wrong with that!

at least she showed up...she could have stayed home like some women who won't go anywhere without their husbands (or husbands without their wives)

Oh man i wouldnt be too happy.....

Re: Can you believe this...

I would not be happy at all. Some caterers do not charge for children under 5. Some charge half price for children under 10 or 12. But depending on the season, a price per head for an adult can be a lot of money that when after a final headcount is given, cannot be changed. It is an expense to the hosts of the wedding. I would much rather see that plate of food go to a vendor than to a three year old who would probably spit out chilean sea bass or chicken cordon bleu. JMO. There is no way a three year old would have the appetite of an adult and for sure, food would be wasted. There are plenty of opportunities for life experiences.

I'd be PO'd, but then again, I'd also be PO'd if she didn't bring someone at all....double edged sword...
