Today I found out that I have the CHICKEN POX ( I never got it when I was a kid ) and then I also found out (someone slipped and told me) that my BRIDAL SHOWER was planned for TOMMORROW!!!!!!!! I feel so bad for my Mom and Sister who have been planning this for months!

I got the chicken pox at age 29 (six months later I had mono!). Mine wasn't very itchy. The main problem I had was the fever. I had in June, and was walking around in heavy sweatshirts because I was cold. Ten minutes later I'd be sweating like crazy.

Thank you Girls.. So far it looks it might be a mild case..... Its not too itchy yet...except on my head. I have suffered with a really high fever and body aches the past few days and now the bumps are poping up all over. I hate this!
I have never had them either, and I work with kids everyday. I wonder if I should get the vaccine??
Feel better and be glad that you are getting them over with, finally!

It does suck so bad! They keep poping up everywhere....the ones behind my ears are the worst for some reason!
I do suggest talking to your Dr. about getting a vaccine if you have never had them and if you work with children. I work with SOOOOOOO many different children each day and I wish I got the vaccine! I thought I was immune to them....GUESS NOT!!!!!!!!

I am so sorry. I just had them a few years ago (I was 26) and it suuckkked! Did your doctor give you any meds? If you start taking them soon enough there is an anti-viral that can make the virus less mild and not last as long. I took and and it was still very bad but not as bad as when my FH had it (he's the one who gave it to me) Feel better soon and don't touch any of those scabs!

I really am so sorry!! I also thought I couldn't get it..I had it as a kid (so did FH) but we both had really mild cases so apparently we were not immune! When FH told me he thought he had the chicken pox, I was in total denial. I was like 'ummm, NO you CAN'T!' Sending non-itchy vibes and your way!

Don't worry about your shower, that can always be done at a later time. Just be thankful that you got it now and that you have plenty of time to get better.
