Can you help me? Card Box?

As time is ticking by I still have not made my photo card box and I am thinking I am probably not going to have time to make one... (although I have all that I need)

So i am thinking I am making something like this for our card box ~ does anyone know where i can get one of these boxes or something similar ~ but i dont want to spend an arm and a leg...

Thanks a bunch!

ac moore has that box in white, i think it is like $30- but if u get a 40% off coupon, it will be cheap! Then you can just decorate it yourself. HTH :)

Have you checked out either Michaels or AC Moore?

I got a box similar to that at Party City for about 30 dollars. If you want it in ivory it is like 55. I am cheap so I went with the white one. You can probably decorate it with pics and bows. I meant to tie a ribbon around it that matched the girls' dresses, but I forgot.

The same box at AC Moore was 20 dollars more.

Yes I have been to AC moore and the ivory one was close to $50.00 either $39.99 or $49.99 which i thought was kind of pricey...

but i have not looked at michaels or party city! will have to check it out ~ If the white ones are cheaper I just might have to go for it! even though my colors are espresso, ivory and tiffany blue

thanks a bunch! keep the ideas coming if anyone else comes across one...

If you can find a Joann's fabrics -- they have boxes like that in the kraft material (plain box like) I bought a hat box shape and covered it with material....(and if I remember correctly it wasn't expensive)

Check www.wrapwithus.com or their store in Syossett. I believe I saw one like that there for $20.

If you end up going with the idea of covering a box with fabric you already have.. they always have a lot of those decorative fabric boxes with lids at Homegoods, they make a great base. You just have to cut your own custom slot in the top (they usually have printed designs on them because they're meant to be decorative storage boxes, but doesn't matter if you're covering it!). The benefit of this is they usually range from like $8-$20. I've made 2 boxes for friends for their weddings and this worked great for me.

I preferred the boxes with removable lids because I tied a ribbon around it so the box couldn't be opened by just anyone at the reception, but could still be opened and re-used afterwards without destroying it.

I second this exact idea. That is how I made mine. I stacked different sized ones to make a cake but you could just use one. I suggest leaving the lid at the bottom because you can wrap that seperate and then that is how you open the box to get your cards out. If it is at the top it might be easier for someone to access it other than you when you are not looking. Here is a picture of mine all finished.
