can you ladies please help calm me down

because im seriously shaking right now

my FH works as a towboat captain in the gulf coast and tonight his boat was hit with lightening. the lightening just happend to hit at the right spot and the barges filled with oil and chemicals went up in flames. thank god that they we're trained to put it out and got it out right away and they are all safe now but im very freaked out right now. i know it was an act of god and lightening doesnt necessairly strike twice but its still very scary. i was on the phone with him when he heard one of the guys on the boat scream FIRE and i freaked out.

I'm sure everything is ok - they are trained for instances like that. Keep us posted.

I would be frightened as well, but thank God that he is okay (by the sounds of what you wrote). Have you talked to him since then? I get scared over small things, so I can imagine how you're feeling now in this situation...But just be thankful that everything is okay and keep reminding yourself...

thanks ladies, he is fine all the guys on the boat are all ok thank god no one was hurt, they were able to put it out right away. im just a little shooken up. he works with so many dangerous chemicals, and one boat he was on even started to sink once because of a huge leak. i just feel like i havent slept one night without worrying about him at this job for the last 3 years and i really need it to be september 1st already when he gets off these boats for good.

im sorry i normally dont like to post real downers like this but im so freaked out and emotional right now i had to get it all out to feel better.

If that's the case, that's def something really good to look forward to And no need to apologize about what you posted - completely understand why you're worried, I'd be totally freaked out about it also. Hang in there, and just look forward to in a few weeks when he's done with it!

(I know it's easier said than done...I freak out sometimes if he doesn't call me back within an hour lol)

yes as of September 1st he will be what they call shore side he will become a Port Captain and work a regular 9-5 job on DRY LAND!!! like a normal person. the only downside is we have to live by the port which is in Houston, TX but its worth it to know hes home safe every night.

i think im more excited for the countdown to him getting off the boat than i am about the countdown to the wedding!!
