i came right out and said, you know, i really love this dress but it is way out of my budget. i really would love to wear it but what can you do to help me out. one of the salesgirls actually told me to ask, and then i did.

I am always so shy about about that kind of stuff....but that is good. I think I can say that. Or I'll have my mom do it...hahahahaha

yeah well when you find the dress of your dreams , then you really will get the courage to say well it is too much money or its out of my budget or whatever. and if they know you want the dress but dont want to spend the money and are willing to walk out or find something cheaper or go elsewhere, they will help you. they came right out and said to me, we want you to have the wedding of your dreams and the dress of your dreams and we will help you as much as we can.. so try. whats the worst that can happen; they say no? go somewhere else. someone will give you the dress for cheaper to make the sale. good luck!!

I went to 2 places and I tried to negotiate but to no avail. I was surprised about this...maybe I am just bad at it but reading this site it seemed that negotiation was standard. I was able to find the dress cheaper calling around and getting quotes over the phone. I did end up finding it cheaper somewhere else.
