You got your first period?

I can! I can go back to that exact moment in time! It was a saturday morning and I had a softball try out and I had to go to the eye doctor where I got my 'super cool' PURPLE BIFOCALS!
Come on! How cool was I???!!

I got it in 4th grade during Christmas vacation! I felt so sick from cramps I threw up the first cycle!

I was probably the latest out of all of you. I got mine in the 10th grade. I remember our family was going on a vacation to Pennsylvania and my mother announced it to my father. He was like...uh...congratulations.

I was in 8th grade I think and I didn't tell my mom right away. but I put my underwear in the hamper and she found them!!! and she was like Um, did you just get your period!?!

Then I went to visit my aunt and grandmother with my dad and my aunt was like CONGRATULATIONS SWEETIE...I just cried!!! I didn't even know that my dad knew, let alone that he was telling people!!!! I still don't get it...why did anyone feel the need to announce it?? Can you imagine being a man and actually telling your mother that your 13 year old daughter got her period!?! I don't think that's NEED TO KNOW INFO!!!

I was 11, and watching tv in my bedroom....my mother was so excited, and I just remember rolling my eyes, and thinking, 'This s*cks'.

Summer between 7th & 8th grades, and I was at a diner w/ my parents.

They were all done eating and ready to leave, and I was in the bathroom for a good 15 minutes 'cause I didn't know what to do.

Let's just say that following September, I went back to school with some new pens, notebooks, and a GIANT RACK. Went from an A to a D in one summer (with no stretch marks!!!) - boy, did I get some reactions.

Yeah, I am sure my mother told my dad and the idea is still mortifying to me.

I was 12, in seventh grade. It was the day after Christmas. Some present! I turned 13 a couple weeks later.

I wonder, if I have a daughter, if I will congratulate her. If someone said that to me, I would have said 'Congratulations? This s u c k s!' I remember being in SO much pain!

i got mine in 10th grade too! I think it was May because we were getting out class rings the next day.
i was home home when it happened.....and it gave me a fever so i got to stay home from school....

June, 6th grade ... I was at a friends house at lunch (we had to go back to school) and we were making elbow macaroni (which we did not nearly have enough time to make so can you say AL DENTE??????).

It's ironic I got it at this girls house who later got knocked up VERY young (She had feminine products but I guess wasn't so sharp on the birth control part)

Oct 9th I was in 7th grade it was like 6am and the phone rang, it was my great aunt calling to say my Gma had a heart attack, so inbetween my mom crying I screamed for her to come into the bathroom I thought I was dying

Was too embarassed to tell the truth, but she finally figured it out. Then she gave me a pamphlet to read about it. No talk or anything!!!! I had no idea what they were talking about!!!

Still waiting for the 'official talk' that moms usually give their daughters!!!! And I'm 35!!!

I never got ANY talks!! No period, sex, nothin.

Actually, I was never even taught the real names of my privates - only when I went to school did I learn that it was a 'vagina', not a 'goochie'.

Oh yeah, I'll never forget that whole sordid awful experience. I got mine REALLY early. End of 4th grade, long before my mom ever had the chance to give me the 'speech'. I came home from school, went to the bathroom, and really thought I was dying. I never said anything to anyone, but what made matters worse was that it went away after that for a good 6 months or so, and the WHOLE freakin' time I thought I was pregnant!! Which, of course, was an impossibility. My mom finally caught up with me in 5th grade to give me the speech, and I just kinda glared at her and said, too little, too late
