Canceling a booked vendor

Canceling a booked vendor

So I made up a fake account because I am sure my photographer checks this board regularly My wedding is coming up in a few months and I hate my photographer. We have given him a lot of money up front but I've seen some his work and I don't like it. To top it off a lot of people have also expressed concerns on here about him as well. Can I cancel my contract?

it will say it on your contract if you can or can't. I mean yes you can always cancel but as far as what you get back, there should be a cancellation policy on the contract, most contracts do have this. Some keep the deposit and return the rest, others wont so just depends on who you are using. Each vendor is different so will just depend what your vendor does.

There have been quite a few girls on here who did cancel their photographers and hired somebody else. Most that I saw who did this lost the money but i think they had only given deposit. To them they were willing to lose their deposits.

This is why they also say not to pay a vendor up front, well this and other reasons. So hopefully you didnt pay most of his fee already

I don't know if the whole deposit is refundable or not.

I don't actually know the answer to this but have seen other girls post that in Suffolk there is a law that says you have to get all (or most) of your deposit back. .don't know if they were just talking about RH's or all vendors but maybe someone else can give you more accurate answers ;)

You *can* cancel it, however there are probably terms & conditions on the contract that you signed, such as only getting 50% of the deposit back or something unless another person books them that day. It should say it on the contract you signed, I'd look, and if it says nothing, I guess they can't hold you to much since they didn't clarify their policies.

We saw our friends photos from their wedding this past year, and they came out horrendously. It's terrible for the amount of time and money invested in these people, the pictures of their moment in time that they can't ever get back came out awful. Their guests' pictures came out better... If you aren't happy, this is your wedding, do not settle and hope that they end up being ok. You'll end up stressing & worrying. If they are proudly displaying terrible work, I'd definitely switch; most places display their bests of the best when it comes to their work.

Sorry you're so unhappy with them
