Canceling a vendor?
After my friend saw the deal I got for my photographer, she wanted to cancel hers as I'm getting the same as she for half price. To cancel is there penalty or is there a Suffolk law??

HOw much time until her wedding? I think it depends on that. Suffolk county says for a venue you can cancel up to 6 months and only lose $100. I am not aware of a law for the other vendors though...

She might forfeit her deposit if canceling the contract. Maybe find another bride on here that might be interested in taking over your contract.

Does she already have another photographer booked for her day? I would recommend she find one that will hold the date for her first. Generally speaking she would probably just lose her deposit but she should definitely read her contract carefully to see what the cancellation penalties are.

yeah she has a photographer already but wants to book mine!! she didn't do much research, kinda just threw everything together and is now regretting many of her decision. shes been doing research on how to cancel some stuff. I figured i'd ask for advice because i truly thought once you paid your locked in!!! i know in my venue contract I would owe 10% of the bill if i cancelled, so i'm not sure what shes gonna do!!!! hopefully she figures it out she only has 11 months till her wedding and i hate to see my good friend so upset!!!!

It depends on her contract. Tell her to read the fine print She may just lose her deposit but I would def make sure the new photographer has her date available.Welcome New Vendors
