Does anyone know what the typical cancellation policy of a RH is? Is there any possibility of getting any money back?

Re: Cancellation Policy
there should be cancellation language in the contract that is signed. also, different counties have different laws regarding cancellations.

Re: Cancellation Policy
suffolk county you get your money back, except $100 i think
nassau county-its in your contract, there is a cancellation policy on the back of it so read it and see what your RH says. From what ive seen many rh's in nassau you wont get your deposit back. If they book your date then you can get your money back, not deposit though and also what it said on my contract was that not only do they have to book your date but it has to be of equal or greater value, and if its not then they will also keep your payments to make up for it or you might have to pay the difference, again it all will depend on them booking and how much those who booked are paying and how much you would've paid.
If they dont book the date then it becomes harder. I cant remember exactly right now but you can end up owing them the money no matter. The closer to the wedding date the more money you would owe, the further away just a percentage
but read your contract, they will tell you their exact policy. Nassau doesnt have laws to protect this so each hall can have their own rules

Re: Cancellation Policy
I believe for suffolk it has to be six months or more before your date for a full refund. I cancelled within a month and received nothing back...Good luck!

This is true. We cancelled at Lombardi's on the Sound exactly 6 months before and got our deposit back (minus $100).
