Candy Bar

For everyone who is doing this how many jars are you using and how many different types of candy are you getting? Really want to do this. I love candy my FH doesn't really get it, but I love the idea.

Re: Candy Bar

I am using my candy bar as a favor so i plan on having between 20-25 jars. 5 or 6 of these jars will have sugar free candy for diabetics. Each jar will have a different type of candy in it. The theme of my wedding is chocolate so many of the jars will have a variety of chocolates in it

Candywarehouse.com is a good place to buy from.

Im buying around 3 very tall jars and 3 smaller ones and probably some julep cups to hold some of those lollipop sticks. I am having around a 70 something person wedding. I bought my jars off of save-on-crafts.com and paid around $4-$6 each. I plan on getting my candy at candywarehouse.com and probably from like Rite Aid or other drug stores.

I'm not 100% yet on exactly what I'm getting, but my estimate is about 15-20 different types of candy. My DOC said to get about 1/2lb per person. I'm gonna buy a little more than that just to be safe, but that's what I'm gonna get. HTH!

Alot of girls have been asking about this lately. I posted this before....

I am doing a candy bar and I read that the key to making it successful was to buy 10-15 different candies in bulk. I bought 10 pounds of 12 different types of candy for mine I think. When they are low, there will be more there to refill. I will have approx. 200 guests.

Also, look in BJ's or Costco for candy and compare prices because I did alot better there than on the websites I found online. I also did really good with prices after different holidays because I got them on sale. Be sure to check the expiration. My DOC also suggested I stay away from Twizzlers and stuff like licorice because it tends to get stuck and people have a hard time getting it apart so just to keep in mind to keep the people moving at the table...

Look in ac moore or michaels for jars as well as Marshalls and Home Goods. I have some pics in my album of a few of the jars I got but I have to say the most beautiful jars I got were from Marshalls. I laugh because I have no clue what to do with them after!!!

Re: Candy Bar

My cousin did this and she had about 15 different candies plus mine cookies on the table. She had everything from York peppermint patties to Swedish fish to old fashion candy sticks. I think the best thing to do is have a little bit of everything. One thing i would recommending is make sure the bags/containers you provide to put the candy is are not too large. My cousin used large paper and she ran out of candy!
