Candy Buffet Favors - Help me with candy choices

Another bride wrote that she is doing a candy buffet favor! Love this idea! Haven't run it by with FH but I think he would like it too.

I'm thinking M&M's, kisses, chocolate covered pretzels..

What else should go here?

Would the candy buffet be in the cocktail hour or reception???

I would think it would be at the reception....at the end of the night when people are on their way out?

Re: Candy Buffet Favors - Help me with candy choices

we're putting ours out at the reception so people can fill up their boxes whenever they want and go back for more etc.

We're going to get candy to match our colors... mostly turquose/aqua and white, with some pink and some black. So far I have come up with:

M&Ms
JellyBelly Jelly Beans
Raffaelos
Some candy from Lindt that we stocked up on after easter
Snow-Caps
Gummy Bears (there's a gummy bear store by us that has big bags of single flavors)

And not sure whatelse.. I was thining of putting out Hershey's bars with personalized wrappers too,but we'll see if I have time.

Re: Candy Buffet Favors - Help me with candy choices

At first I wanted to do the CB on my own but then my RH told me that they have a nice CB display so I am going to pay a little extra and go with theirs. Its going to be displayed at the VH. This is not our favor just something extra for our guests and for the people that dont eat pastries, they can eat candy. I dont know what candy my RH provides but I would do:

M&M's (personalized)
Lemon Heads
Mike and Ikes's
Lolipops
Gummi Bears
Anything chocolate

You can do old time candy choices

Re: Candy Buffet Favors - Help me with candy choices

we are planning to do this as well... but not sure what candy to get.... thanks for starting this thread!

I was thinking of having the candy buffet set up at the reception so people can fill their bags whenever they wish.

Here's a question: Where to buy candy bags or boxes for the candy buffet? I want something more solid than just a cellophane bag.

Re: Candy Buffet Favors - Help me with candy choices

mini hershey bars
lollipops

try orientaltrading.com for bulk candy or economy candy on Rivington Street NYC for a lot of old time candy (sorry -I grew up in the 70's)
