oohh I always get them Dana. They stink. Usually all I do is wash my mouth with salt water. It definitely helps sooth the pain but they are still there for a while.
Do you have a bad one?

I get them so much I dont know what its like not to have one lol i've been to soooooooo many doctors and dentists etc, everyone says 'you're just prone to getting them, there's no real cause for them' or they say they are viral, then they used that as a symptom for when they thought i had Lupus, then i thought it was a food allergy..its never ending and just wanted to make sure I wasnt the only one.

Re: Canker sores
I get them too, especially if i accidentally bit myself, I know i'll be getting one there. I use Kanka* cuz it really numbs the spot and I think they go away faster with it.

thats another reason why i get them so much. I'm always biting something lol i have one on the inside of my lip, its HUGE. i get so angry with myself after I bite it cause i know whats coming. I use Kanka too. I have every rinse, over the counter ointment crap. nothing works anymore. i've grown immune to them lol

Re: Canker sores
i get them too and i also bite the inside of my mouth when im stressed, which obviously doesn't help. I use orajel and rinse with listerine, it seems to help them heal faster.

not really..i've been getting them since i'm a lil kid. My mom said she used to get them like I do but eventually grew out of it... I just think theres a underlying problem somewhere and no one can figure it out. At first I thought it was that I was allergic to chocolate(cocoa)! So i did a little experiment, didnt have chocolate for weeks. I was canker sore free for a month!!! then all of a sudden they came back..so i dont think I have a food allergy. Who knows

Re: Canker sores
I think that Lysine tables are more for coldsores (Mouth Herp!) than canker sores.

Re: Canker sores
I get them so bad, I've had tons of work done on my mouth and sometimes I get a few at a time and its torture. I find that when I rinse with peridex (prescription mouthwash) while I have them they go away much quicker and they're not as painful. I've tried Ambesol, Kanka, and chloreseptic and they usually only provide me with temporary relief. I was told by my prosthodontist to talk to my dr. about a pill they can give me to help prevent them but I havent dont it yet.

Re: Canker sores
I am the canker sore queen, I get them A LOT for some reason! I have tried SO MANY remedies in the past to get rid of them but I find the thing that helps the most if peroxyl, its a mouthwash from the colgate brand (just when u are trying to get rid of a canker sore- I dont think its for daily use) There is also a rembrandt toothpaste made for canker sore sufferers. I find that to be helpful too, its just not as good as the regular stuff (doesnt fizz as much or taste as good) but..... its a fine sacrifice if it means not getting those annoying pests as frequently!
