i used a nice version of jesu of mans desiring for the wedding party but I used Canon in D for myself

Using that song for the bridal party at the church is the one thing that FH insists on (which is fine with me). He calls it our song and says when he hears it it makes him think of our wedding.

Many brides do that. Some of my friends have used the trumpet voluntary for teh BP and canon in D for themselves.
But you can definitely do the one if thats what you want to do
