Cant believe this - UPDATE *****

I was getting my flowers from a supermarket. I met with them once to discuss what kind of flowers I wanted. I was supposed to have a follow up appt this week. I just called the lady (who has been in the floral industry for yrs) and she is quitting and not able to do my wedding!!!! She does not recommend anyone else in that store to do the wedding b/c they will not be able to handle it.!!!!

It is 7 weeks until my wedding, how I am supposed to start from scratch! She only reommended 2 other supermarkets in the area and said everyone else wouldnt do a good job.

I can't even belive this is happening.

FLOWERS BY LIZ - Liz is a friend of my FFIL. I booked her today right on the spot! She kept me in my budget. Now I know what a difference a REAL florist makes. I would not recommend Stop & Shop to anyone. (Maybe it was just that one person, but still....)

Liz had books upon books and idea after idea. She was great. She had pics from back in the 80's - early 90's that were so funny to look at!! That is how long she has been doing this.

I am so happy and sooooo relieved. Thank you to everyone for all of your recomendations!!

Even if the store - Stop and Shop - offered to do my wedding at this point, even though that lady is leaving, I would decline. Just a bad taste in my mouth.

I have an appointment tonight with a florist, hopefully will be in my budget.

I don't know where you live, but if you are looking to have a supermarket do your flowers then I may be able to make a recommendation.

For my engagement party in 7/05, my mom was incharge of the centerpieces and she actually had Super Stop and Shop in Setauket (on 347) do them. The lady did a good job.
I don't know if that lady is still there, or if that is the place that you looked at, but I was pleased with them.
