The Vineyard Caterers in Aquabogue. Thats where I plan on booking. I thinks it's so classy to have a wedding at a vineyard. I know that they have your date open too. My uncle is the head chef - the food is amazing. You can even schedule a tasting!

I booked with the Sand Castle in August and was ready to turn around when we got there and saw the outside. I just didn't like it. However, I LOVED the inside, and the package they give you is really great. It's a little on the expensive side, but definitely worth it for what you are getting! Plus, they're totally willing to work with your budget.

Also, there is a website that lists every single catering hall on Long Island. Trying googling it. I was amazed at how many there were.

i was going to suggest Glenn Island, but saw what you wrote about the minimum.
If you are having a smaller wedding, Old Field Club is beautiful. It was too far and too small for us but i loved it.
Others I like are Bourne mansion and Flowerfield. You can also check out Surf Club.

i'm booked at the Sand Castle. its really pretty but a bit quirky. its worth checking out. they wanted a 180 person minimum on a saturday night. friday night will prob be less. dont know what u had in mind.

I'm not sure how far you want to go, but the Villa Barone Hilltop Manor (my RH) was unbelievable. It's all the way in Mahopac though. There is another one in the Bronx as well. They are worth checking out
