Capital One Bank Savings- Tax Related

Does anyone have a savings account with Capital One (formerly North Fork), and did NOT receive their interest statement for 2008 yet?

It's holding me up and I don't know what the deal is, since my sister got hers.

Has anyone else been forgotten by corporate America?

Can you go online and download the form. If you call customer service they should be able to give you the amount reported on the form

Legally they have until Jan 31. After that, go in and talk to someone because that bank is a mess since they were taken over.

I totally agree...as soon as FH and I start pooling our finances, I am OUT of there.

I guess I'll wait till next week, then start looking online or calling.

actually this year 1099s don't have to be mailed until February 2nd.

If you didn't get your 1099-INT from the bank, you can always look at your last bank statement and pick up the year-to-date interest that is stated on it; just make sure that the last interest you received was in December (some banks issue statements in the middle of the month).

Hope that helps!

Ha ha ha ha!
i work in the training department for Capital One Bank. I used to work for NFB before Cap1 took over.
the only thing I can say is that if it was less than $10 in interest then you wouldnt get one. I dont know how much in interest FH earned.

Other than that.. I have an acct with ING and i didn't get anything yet either. it's still a little early.. but hopefully within the next few weeks it will come.

oh and just an FYI... Cap 1 is actually not doing so bad in comparison to other banks in the financial aspect. so far we are in no danger of going under like other banks are... so be careful when you select which bank to switch to. You dont want to switch to a bank with financial problems.

O wow that's so funny!
What dept are you in? We have a training center on long island... and they are moving them to the corporate office in Melville. I don't know when they are going to actually make the move but I know they are working on it.
