Car Inspection Question ---hoping someone may know the answer!

I live in FL. My car is still registered, insured and my license is still NY. (Basically I am just 'visiting' FL longterm lol) I drive my car up to NY once a year to get it inspected.

If I go a few months over the time I'm supposed to get it inspected by, are there are repercussions to my license/insurance or anything like that?

no... that would only happen if your insurance lapsed at any time

if you get a ticket for inspection... it's a relatively low fine, no points etc.

i just got this from the nys dmv site

Is there a penalty if I do not get an inspection?

You cannot renew your vehicle registration. Inspection stations electronically send a record of all emissions inspections to the DMV. The DMV must have a record that your vehicle passed an emissions inspection during the previous year. Keep the receipt of your emissions inspection sticker to prove that your vehicle was inspected.
You can receive a fine. If the inspection sticker on your vehicle has expired in the past 60 days, you can receive a fine of $25 to $50. If the inspection sticker is expired more than 60 days, the fine is between $50 and $100. If there is no inspection sticker, the fine is between $50 and $100. Mandatory state surcharges of $55, plus additional fees, are added to the fine.
You can receive a parking ticket. A parked vehicle with no inspection sticker, or with an expired inspection sticker, can receive a parking ticket.

It is....however, I am on my parents policy in NY, so its super cheap for me right now. If I registered my car down here, my insurance doubles because I have to get an individual policy AND i need to give up my NY license (and im not prepared to give it up lol)...once fh and i get married, i am converting everything to florida because both of us, married, on a policy isn't too expensive.

confusing. lol

you & FH can get a policy together now. if you don't have any moving violations or accidents on your records your should be able to get a good deal in FL.
