card box or money bag?

any suggestions for a card box? is that a better idea than a money bag? I don't want to spend a lot of money on this stuff...any suggestions? (having about 200 people at wedding)

Thanks!

I didn't want to carry a money bag around (little old Italian ladies everywhere were shocked) so I'm doing a card box. I was going to order one but by the time I decided what I wanted most places couldn't get it to me in time...(Etsy crushing my hopes and dreams - lol) So I went to Joanne's Fabrics and bought a box for like $5 and I'm going to cover it myself.

i had a card box that i had borrowed from my MOH (she had it from her wedding 2 years ago).

too bad most people (especially family) handed us the cards directly and we had to walk over to the card box and put the cards in the box ourselves.

our RH had a birdcage, so we used that and just put all the cards in a bag at the end of the night.

Our cardbox is a mailbox. When we are done we are going to use it at our Greenport house.

It's pretty big maybe like 1.5 square feet and then 8 or 9 inches high.... the top flips open and when it is closed it has a magnetic seal... I am doing a horrible job of explaining this... LOL... I just don't have a picture.

I ended up just getting one of those big pretty floraly looking hat boxes at TJ Maxx (it's more of a trunk style though). I think it was around $10 at most.

We did a money bag because we are going to be at our cocktail hour and after the ceremony we have a recession line so we're pretty sure people are going to just hand us cards anyway.

In my family everyone did the money bag so of course I was going to also. I also didn't think my relatives would know what to do with the card box but I ended up getting a pretty one at Michael's. The thought of carrying that bag around was not appealing to me.

I'm doing both. When the bag gets a full I will put them in the cardbox.

I did a cardbox. I thought it looked good, but it was a pain in the neck to make and no one seemed to notice it. If you dont want to spend money you might be better off with a money bag, as lon as you have someone you can trust hold it.

We had a money bag. My Nanny (moms mom) made it for when I was Baptized. I also used it for my Communion, Confirmation & Sweet 16. Since she has passed away it was a way to have her at our wedding. My parents held it at their table.

My mom bought me a money bag. I figure after everything I will give it to my parents to hold.
