Card 'Box' Size?

I bought these victorian style decorated metal pails.. they look like the old style lunch pail almost... they are 5 imches wide and a little more than nine inches high (inside) i bought two- I plan on gluing satin fabric over cardboard panels to the sides with a slot in the middle of one side to use as a card collector-

will these be big enough for a wedding of 175-200?

I also bought a medium sized, but taller than usual hat box in the same decor style- but I don't really want to cut a hole in the top it is so pretty- any other options?

thank you!!
