Card stock

Can anyone explain the different levels of card stock to me?

60lb v. 37lb for example - which is heavier?
Whats a good one to use for the outside of a program? I'm thinking of using something of a similar quality to a basic Hallmark card. Any suggestions?

Re: Card stock

More poundage is heavier.

24lb is copy paper (i think)
80lb is a nice cardstock that is pretty difficult to fold

Hallmark card are probably something like 50lb.

Re: Card stock

From what I recall the 60lb is heavier and what I used for the programs... It is similar to the thickness of a hallmark card and fits through the printer. Anything heavier than 60lb will most likely have a hard time moving through a printer.

I got the cardstock (also called coverstock) in a cream color at Stapeles... Hope that helps!

Re: Card stock

I guess I am the paper queen (i should be for all the $ I spent at paper access :D )

Im not 100% sure but I think anything in the 50-60lb class is considered cardstock and the anything 80 or above is considered coverstock.
