Is there a way to fold it without it getting all weird looking at the crease?

you need to score it first--i use a ruler and a mechanical pencil without lead..i have fancy tools they make to do this but i always have this stuff around

so you use the pencil with no lead to 'write' on the crease line marked by the ruler?

sorry if it is obvious, i'm just checking

hold the ruler where you want to score and then run the pencil(with no lead) OR i have used a butter knife or letter opener ... and just run what ever you are using along the ruler. Thats how I do it.
