Is it too risky because of hurricane season? I don't know where to go...I don't think we can afford Hawaii & we just went to Aruba this past summer and would like to try a new place.
Any suggestions?!

Re: Caribbean in October?
Go to Punta Cana its great there. Really good prices there too. You can get travel insurance and many hotels give lots of special pricing for the fall because people get fearful of hurricanes... look at last fall, nothing came near the caribbean!

we are going to punta cana in oct. i am little worried about hurricane season but look at it this way if it was wintr time you would have to worry about weather like today or a blizzard.
i been to the caribbean in hurricane season and the weather was perfect. we did take out insurance just in case.

Re: Caribbean in October?
Hey! Check out Royal Caribbean for a southern caribbean cruise. I believe it goes to two of the virgin islands. I'm pretty sure you should be okay as far as hurricane season. You could ask a travel agent too.

Re: Caribbean in October?
You can certainly go to the Caribbean in Oct. the problem is not so much hurricanes, it's more like swimming in the beaches. The weather starts to cool off. I'm from PR and I can tell you that you can't swim in the waters from Oct. to about Mar. This is the time when there's more sealife ie: jellyfish, and you DON'T want to swim w/ those!!!! I can suggest if you really want to go to the Caribbean, anywhere is nice, think maybe of a more southern place like: Trinidad and Tobago, or maybe Mexico: Cozumel, Cancun or even Belize!!! I know they're not the most honeymoon friendly places, but if you want to have a good time, you'll make it a good time! Also Mexico, on the Pacific is good during Oct. Have you thought of something exotic like the Canary Islands? or southern part of Spain?
