yes it is due that early but you get to call again a week before and then 2 days before when you drop everything off so don't worry!!

you're all getting a band huh>> i decided on a DJ so i hope i'm not disappointed..i just couldn't see spending that much more money after i already had to spend so much on the place..arrhh where is all this money coming from..lol

We're using a dj...Music by Michael! We felt the same way about a band, just too much money given all that we are spending. Plus, IMO I think you get more music/songs/dancing time with a dj.
Either way, you can't go wrong at Carlyle!!!!

We're having Code Bleu play at our wedding - and we heard the sound there is really great.
On a side note - you guys ever notice that when you tell other vendors where you're having the wedding, they all ooh and aahh over how great the Carlyle is?
I love hearing that!!! It's such a beautiful place and i love hearing how good other people think it is because it just makes me all the more excited to be there...

Just looked to see who was getting married soon on the Reception Thread and there are a bunch of Carlyle girls in the next few months!!!!

I had my menu selection meeting this weekend. It was great and made me so excited. Only 2 negative things...first, there was a wedding/event going on so I couldn't look around and the chocolate fountain is no longer working (it spews chocolate at people) so they replaced it with a fondue station! I don't think my mom has gotten over it yet!

Also, is anyone doing the after hours? We are!!

Hi fellow Carlyle brides.... I haven't posted in some time work has been keeping me super busy and I just haven't had the time.

Our weddings are quickly approaching and I would like to wish each and every one of you girls an amazing day!

I am also having a DJ - it was too difficult for us to find a band that would play Russian, Jewish, and American music well. We're having a string trio for the ceremony and cocktail hour

I agree that giving the final count (and seating) 2 weeks prior is early but you can always make changes. I have never heard a negative thing about Carlyle so I can only imagine that there is a good reason for handing in this information early. We still have a lot of work to do... we haven't started the seating and we have to go drop off the final payment and all the paper work on Saturday.

We went for a food tasting last week... it was more like a sit down dinner because they brought me and FH 3 salads to taste and then 5 dinners. Everything was spectacular - the macadamia crusted Mahi was the BEST! I am so excited about everything.

Does anyone know if they have a bathroom attendant/basket? I keep forgetting to ask.

Sue said they were looking into buying another chocolate fountain, but it didn't sound too promising. I think she was just trying to appease my mother who was having a heart attack

I am not sure if there is a bathroom attendant but there are definitely NO bathroom baskets. I asked, you have to bring your own.

Also, the 2 week deadline seems pretty soft. There are various other times after that point where you can give them a more final number.

No more chocolate fountain?!!! I want a refund! Isn't it like $4,000.00 for the one extra hour? I think I'd rather put that toward my honeymoon

I didn't have a tasting. I don't know if there was a bathroom attendant and I didn't make bathroom baskets. The chocolate fondue was excellent. Everyone loved it. I've never seen a chocolate fountain before. I think I've been out of NY too long. We actually missed most of our desert hour because we were taking pictures but the deserts were wonderful.

I think I should change my name to Clueless Bride...

Honestly the stories I have heard about the fountains and bacteria...I just don't want to even think about. Drunk people...end of the night....pouring chocolate...you can put it together, hehehe

just had to add that I went to carlyle yesterday to show a bridesmaid and she totally loved it!

i can't wait!

be prepared with what type of cake you want-filling and flavor. i was so into what the outside would look like that i didn't even think of the inside.

we went with the rib eye but might change to the filet, the chicken with spinach and the mahi. the stations were so hard but we stayed away from the italian meats and the veggie one--wanted more for our money.

it becomes so real! think about how many vendors you are feeding because they ask.
