i don't remember paying anything the last time but that was maybe a different one--but i thought it was by k-joy. i think when carlyle does it themselves there is a fee but who knows.

CJStein--so great that you can hear your band in the acutal room!!!

we are going. hoping to find limos at a better price and looking at tuxes--our last 2 things to do!

Empire- I'm pretty psyched...my future MIL is coming with and it will be the first time she is seeing the place.

yea! it's going to be great. it's hard to see how beautiful the room is with all the vendors in there but she'll see how beautiful the place is and get to taste the yummy food!

Hey guys! I was at the Carlyle the other day and I just wanted to say that they re-painted the enterance and hallway- it looks beautiful. They also re-carpeted the hallway- beautiful as well!

Everytime I go there I fall in love with it all over again! I am soooo happy to be getting married there! It is truly the place of my dreams!

Hey- anyone know if they are re-painting the ballroom too? If they re-painted everything else they might, right? I do remember seeing some water stains on the walls in the ballroom so it prob. could use a touch up...

My wedding at the Carlyle is not until May 28th, 2006, so I am still just starting some of my planning. Photographers are next on my agenda. Does anyone have any advice? Who are you using and what sort of package/price did they give you? Please feel free to FM me.

i'm using btc photography..bernadette was wonderful and fh and i were looking for something more personable then an agency..her prices are good and she seems like a lot of fun..she's a vendor on here..fm me if you'd like more info..

Hello ladies! I am a Carlyle bride as well - I was curious if anyone has info regarding food tasting - when we booked we were told we would have one but recently we were they don't have them!

We are using Proline Studios in Franklin Square....they do really nice work and they are really nice to work with...
its actually my friends fathers company!

I am using Duet.... we got a great deal and I was very impressed with their work!

I went to see about 10 photographers so I really did my share of research....

My favorite overall was Verdi... I couldn't afford them though, there were sooo many little extras to add.

We are using Spelman Studios. Christine Spelman is great to work with, and her pics are beautiful.

Hey Girls!

Carlyle is having another showcase on Thursday, March 31, 2005.... bc of the last one that was snowed out! It's being put together by KJoy... so it's a $10 donation.

I'm mad... well it sounds stupid but I can't go.... it's our 1 year mark of being engaged... hey, unless I tell him we can go to dinner to celebrate at the oak room and then walk around the bridal show.....

great news about the other showcase. we didn't get to go because of the snow.

for photo we are using Duet too. They offered a lot for the price and their work is great. FM me if you want info.

I'm so excited to see the new carpet. I would imagine that they are going to paint the ballroom too right. Why not if they have done everything else.

does anyone have a pic of the arrangement they used or want to use on the entrance table when you first walk in. the one that would be right outside the door for the cocktail room? My fmil is making ours with silk flowers and i'm looking for ideas. thanks!

This is my first time ever using this chat room but I saw that some brides from Carlyle were exchanging some useful information. I actually bought my dress at kleinfelds too and it also is made by Reem Acra. What is yours called? When you buy at a trunk show do you get a discount?

If you don't mind me asking, what photographer are you using? I am getting to the point where I need to book the photographer and I don't know who to book.

I wish I could have gone with Verdi... but it just wans't fitting into the budget.

My gown is called Wrap- what is yours?

I bought it at Kleinfelds when they had a trunk show in December and got 10% off- not bad, we saved about $550

We were very happy with Duet, not as great as Verdi but I checked out like 10 photographers.

I am still debating about Verdi. It is a lot of money?? I have to look into some other photographers. Are there any you really don't recomend that you met with?

My dress is called adored. I bought mine at Kleinfelds and it was the first time I ever went and tried on a wedding gown and I ended up buying it. They kind of pressured me into it because they were having a sale, 17 1/2 % off of any 4 pieces. So I bought the dress, vail, headpiece and shoes. I do love the dress and it's one thing out of the way. So I guess it worked out ok.
