We stayed at the Garden City Hotel (but we didn't do the wedding package - we just got a regular room for *much* less). I think we booked it a couple of months before.

we just booked the bridal suite at the inn at fox hollow.
i first wanted to book the garden city hotel, but then i realized how close the inn at fox hollow was and we wound up there!

Hey Everybody We just went last weekend to finalize our contract and give first payment. They did paint the entrance a burgundy color--I knew something looked different! Gary said they had just painted that recently and that the carpeting was new.
Thanks for heads up on thinking about menus and placecards. I think that stuff is fun (let's see how fun I think it is when I leave it to the last minute)
Fh and I are going to the Oak Room for Valentine's Day dinner this Saturday night. Can't wait to drop by there again and have some yummy food!
Random question for everyone--are you having a band or a dj? We booked a dj and now fh is wanting to switch to a band--he thought it would 'fill up the room' more. Any thoughts???

As far as the money goes, you'll get notices in the mail whenthe next installmetn is due. Probably 6 months before.

We're having a band, my FH felt the same as yours....I would have booked a dj, but really wanted a band, regardless of the space.

we're staying at the hilton because our guests are going to continue the party in the bar there with us..we're getting a dj because i didn't want a band..i'm doing table cards i'm just not sure how to do them yet!!! i haven't been there since december so i'm behind in the colors..and i was going to do baskets but i'm still debating..the money is adding up

we are doing a band... daybreaks night from franklin wayne.... they are a vendor here and on the website you can actually hear clips from the bands.... they are great-went to like 3 weddings where they played.
as far as payments, everything is on the contract. 5k down, 5k 6 months b-4 and 5k 3months b-4 i think with the rest a few weeks b4 the wedding..... something like that!
I was there a few weeks ago and didn't notice-maybe they did it after i was there.....

Ok....question ladies.... im lookin at this website.... and everyone is saying how much they are paying for their plates at their reception halls.... I KNOW how much im paying....which is MORe than what these people are telling me.... can i ask what u guys are paying??? bc im kinda worried that i went a little over board!!! LOL (Not that im gonna change the Carlyle-NO WAY!!!!!)

Hey ladies!!! I never knew there was a thread on here for Carlyle.. I wish I had found it sooner!!! Such a relief to know there is one.. I was feeling left out with all the other brides!!! lol...
I am going to the Carlyle on Thursday too.. just a question though.. do we have to pre-register or anything? I tried to find that info on KJOY's website.. but it didn't say anything...
Can't wait to show the Carlyle to my MOH.. she's never been there!!!

i don't remember paying anything the last time but that was maybe a different one--but i thought it was by k-joy. i think when carlyle does it themselves there is a fee but who knows.
CJStein--so great that you can hear your band in the acutal room!!!
we are going. hoping to find limos at a better price and looking at tuxes--our last 2 things to do!
