I'm this November! I'm excited about the mash potato bar too! We get a chocolate fountain with the desert cafe??? How exciting. I'm probably not going to get home to finalize my menu until October. We've delt with Sue P. mostly and she is soooo nice!

Just curious... how many captains stations do you have..... I have 6 but I don't know how I can choose only 6...

I think they give you the option of 6 to 10 depending on how many people you plan on hosting. I am having 6 with an additional 'extra cost' station.

No, the executive gratuity is separate from (and additional to) the service charge.
okay so is this the additional 'tip' that is large from what i heard? supposedly it is 'recommended' right?

yep - they give a recommended percentage - unfortunately, I don't remember exactly what it was, but if you ask, they should tell you.

Re: carlyle brides
we are october 8th 2004 ans we just went for our final menu choice we met with cynthia and she is so nice Even if you dont go with any 'extra' stations they throw in extra stuff to accomadate your needs--combining two stations to give you extra or adding a apecific desset at the dessert cafe We couldnt ask for better service or a more amazing place When we were there, another wedding was going on and everone was so on top of stuff ---i have never second guessed our choice

Re: carlyle brides
just curious, what do you mean 'extra stations' do you mean more than the six they originally offered?
what did they offer to add at the dessert cafe? i think that will be my fav part....
also, are you doing the duet course, if not, what did they offer you for first and second courses?

Re: carlyle brides
I am a Carlyle Bride... July 2, 2005. I am so excited about the place it is beautiful and the service seems wonderful. I am also meeting with Cynthia and I think she told us that the extra charge was 5-7% of the total bill. For a Saturday, day she told us $1200.00 and I think for a Saturday night they recommend $3000. Which is a little crazy.

Re: carlyle brides
I went to my final menu meeting last week and they will give you a final bill printed on the bottom of my bill ---my wedding is a friday night---stated something like reccommended gratuity of $1500-$3000
And to tell all you future carlyle brides the menu has changed somewhat. Atleast it did from when I booked them to when I finalized my menu

Re: carlyle brides
what did they offer to add at the dessert cafe?
We are definitely not close to setting our menu but we asked Sue if we could add a cereal bar to the dessert cafe because my FH is a cereal nut...and she said it wouldn't be a problem at all. She mentioned that she has done a Hostess bar too with twinkies and cupcakes and all that. So it seems like they are pretty open to do what you want.

Re: carlyle brides
Just so that everyone knows---when you go to the carlyle to pick out your final menu you also pick out your final cake---i was told to bring pictures but when it basically comes down to it you ar egiven about 6 pictures (all round cakes) and asked to pick from those model cakes---if you want anything very diffent example---square cake ----this will cost you extra. You are given pleanty of choices for flavor inside and out!!! But. This was one thing I was definitly not happy about. I had my heart set on a square cake but when it came down to it, I did not wan t to pay extra for it---just my opinion!!!! felt like fellow carlyle brides should be aware of this information

Re: carlyle brides
no I am allmost positive that would be an extra. What I was told was for the outside vanilla or choclate and for the inside vanilla mouse, choclate mouse, raspberry, strawberry, cannoli, and threre might have been one or two more choices that I cannot remember. the pictures are of all round cakes and there is one that has like candy pearls on it, two different types of swirl designs, a basket weave look and two more that I can not remember (sorry) but I just remember being disappointed about the whole cake choices and process----I can honestly say it is the one and only think I have ever been disappointed about at the carlyle. But you can always upgrade you just have to pay for it
