Re: carnival cruise?
About two hours after you get on the ship, they make everyone always do an emergency drill...its funny bc you have to go to a designated area, people get split at different places, FH and I were in the movie theater and I was one of the few people actually in there really paying attention to everything they said and they make you bring your life vest with you and i had it on before we even left the room.

But its soooo much fun...Get a room that is on a higher level, you don't feel the rocking as much and get it in the middle of the ship...Whatever you do make sure its not towards the back you will feel it so much, either end actually you'll feel alot more...We were on the 15th level deck and it was great, when we'd go to the casino on the 6th level we felt it alot more

You're welcome ...Look at it this way, how many people do you hear of that die on a cruise? i mean we all have higher risks of something happening on the road. Like I said i was so surprised how much I ended up loving the cruise, we had an amazing time. There are alot of great deals out there on cruises, but some are also not that cheap...The one I went on the cheapest package they had was for $1800 per person which isn't bad for the amount of time it was for and all the places it stopped...But bc of what happened to our ship and our trip being delayed 2 days, we got 50% back

Re: carnival cruise?
I am obsessed with cruises, i think they are awesome, the last one i went on was 12 nights. I would never go on carnival. I would only take celebrity. Its way better food, service and overall quality. JMO

Re: carnival cruise?
I've been on a few cruises as well, and would also not recommend Carnival. Don't get me wrong, its nice and you will still have a good time on Carnival BUT we went on one of the newer ships and I still felt that the cruises I went on other lines were much better.

Re: carnival cruise?
Yeah ive never been on carnival either but ive had quite a few ppl say not to go on one.
Fh's family has been going every year for years...The year before they went on celebrity and they liked it alot...THis past summer we all went on the brand new Crown Princess, its one of the bigger ships around, well freedom of the seas is the biggest, but crown princess is close behind it...It was HUGe and so nice, we were also the second trip out ever too.

Re: carnival cruise?
My aunt's a travel agent (hoping she'll HOOK US UPPPPPPP for our HM), and she was tellign me that of all the cruise lines, Carnival is the most young/party crowd type of cruise.
Do with that information what you will! I don't know if that's what you want or not!
And I never felt our cruise rock. I slept SOOOOOOOO well on it! Don't be scared, you won't really realize it's moving!
ETA: Ah, ok. I'm glad some other ladies mentioned Carnival before me....if you want specific info about it, FM me.

Re: carnival cruise?
Wellllllllll....I've only been on one.... Norweigan out of NYC.
The ship was brand new. Apparently though, some people either love it or hate it. At Norweigan you don't sit with the same people every night. They have a 'freestyle dining' system. So you eat where you want and when you want. No mandatory dinners. Also, there isn't a 'dress up night' although people do get dressed up for dinner if they want to....
So it depends. I happened to love it - but then again, I had nothing to compare it to!

Re: carnival cruise?
I've been on 6 cruises. 4 of which were carnival and 2 RC. My parents have cruised carnival, RC, Princess, and Norweigian.
I personally HATE Royla Caribbean -- the food and service are just not good. My parents werent impressed with Princess and they didnt like the Freestyle cruising of Norweigian.
There are a lot of misconceptions about Carnival. The food is actually fantastic, the entertainment is the BEST of all the cruise lines, the boats are very nice (maybe not as elegant as some others, but just as nice in its own way), and its cheaper than many others. To be honest, I fond that its all up to the individual. But dont let people steer you away from carnival just because of what they've 'heard.' Most people that have actually cruised carnival before will tell you its a blast. Because of the younger crowd, theres a lot more fun activites to do onboard. My parents (they're int heir 50's) went on Princess and Norweigian and the thing they DIDNT like about it was that they said almost EVERYONE was older (I'm talking like 60+). Carnival has a mixed crowd -- anywhere from 2 all the way to 70. Yes, the majority of cruisers are in their 20's....but WE are in your 20's too. why would you want to go on a cruise with all older people?
I would try talking to people who have cruised several lines (including Carnival) before you make any decisions.
