Have you ever gone to a wedding with a cash bar? Where was it?
I live in California and I was just discussing wedding plans with my co-workers.
Apparently having an open bar is not expected.
I heard a couple of different options:
Cash bar the whole wedding Each person gets two drinks tickets then it is cash bar Open bar for only 2 hours then a cash bar
Anyway, I just wanted to hear any other options you may have experienced.
ETA: I am having a full open bar at my wedding. I am just curious to see if people actually did go to a wedding with a cash bar.

yes. one was cash bar all nite (massachusetts). the second was open bar for 1 hour and then cash bar rest of nite (wisconsin)

i didnt even realize this was an old thread by the way. Oops. Just saw it and replied with out reading everyones opinions and such. Didnt realize is caused such a conflict and I def. do NOT want to get involved with that.

not to cause any drama...im neutral!!
A quick story i heard recently, a friend was invited to a wedding and is a big drinker...i think the wedding was upstate. He and his friends were sooo angry about this they took the money from the card they were going to give the wedded couple and used it for their drinks at the cash bar.

Thats insane!!!
But, most of our halls here provide bar with the package right off the bat - maybe outside of NY, they don't????
