My fiance and I are looking for an affordable castle or mansion to get married at. Definitely not Oheka because of the price! We will have around 125 guests for August 2011 on a Saturday night. Any suggestions along with prices would be so helpful to us. Thanks!!

Re: Castle/Mansion Reception Halls?
Well if you are willing to travel about 45 mins, my sister had hers in a castle in Purchase on the Manhattanville College campus called Reid Castle. I have some pics in my album. FM me if you want some more info! It truly was gorgeous!
ETA I believe the price was around $160 pp and a 3000 site fee

Re: Castle/Mansion Reception Halls?
Royalton Mansion in Roslyn!!
The Royalton caters each wedding to the couple. It the most private, amazing location. The food is out of this world. It's one wedding at a time, ballroom is gorgeous hardwood floors....
Here's a link to my Royalton review so you can see some pics. Review
For Saturday night the site fee is $2500 (paid directly to Dowling College).
The cost PP is maybe $110 or so? (IDK cuz I'm Friday night)
LVE it there! I love that it's over 100 yrs old and there's a huge lawn behind it then the river.

DH's sister recently got married at the skylands manor in Jersey. It was beautiful, and it is situated near the botanical gardens.

Re: Castle/Mansion Reception Halls?
If you are willing to give up a sat (for a fri or sun affair) i think you should check out oheka. they are amazing to work with (and include a ton of extras that if you are planning on having anyway increase the budget elsewhere). FM for more info but i think you should at least look there before you shoot it down.
(on a side note--- if you are stuck on a sat evening affair--- then i agree---- probably on the higher end!).
