Cat Boarding/Sitting for HM?

I am not going on my HM until June 06, (yes, i know i worry obsessively about my cats ) and I am already freaking out about who is going to watch my cats. I have a few possibilities open, but I wanted to see if anyone here knew about reliable cat sitters or boarders. TIA!

No I havent been on vacation since I got him and I was going to leave him there in the dog section but they put down wee-wee pads and Murphy finds them delicious so its too dangerous but the cat part looks nice, right?

A first choice is usually to keep a cat in it's natural environment when you're away. They are under a lot of stress to have you gone, and then moving them to a new place is much added stress.

There are lots of great sitters out, I also have a neighbor check in on them once in a while. Here is the agency I use - Dog Walking for Rainforests (they do all kinds of pet sitting/services). I like the agency b/c I've met the people working there and they are good - but also if one disappears or is sick there are others to look after my 2 kitties. They've gotten kudos from several of my neighbors too!

Re: Cat Boarding/Sitting for HM?

Diane, I went away for four days this past August and my brother came every day to check on the cats. I called him every single day. I was a wreck, and relieved to come home.

Julybride, my first choice is to have my brother or sister watch them in my apt, but my brother is moving to AZ with my mom, and my sister is going away to college. If she stays with me during the summer, she will catch them while we are away. If not, Eddie and Lydia might go to a boarder. I started researching boarders early b/c I am really neurotic about my cats.
