Re: Cat owners: How much does your cat weigh?
we had 2 cats. the skinnier one died when he was only like 5 year old of kidney problems, while my cutie-fat-pie 'whiskers' just died a few months ago at the age of 17. He was always over weight (until the last years), & the friendliest cat in the world.

My cat is about 9 lbs. My other cat, who I had to put to sleep in the summer, was 16 lbs. She was not overweight, she was just a really big cat. I miss her alot.

Re: Cat owners: How much does your cat weigh?
My parents cats (which I still consider mine) Snoopy was close to 30lbs--however died in April vet said it was most likely due to his weight. We had put him on a diet and he stopped eating b/c he hated the food. He ended up developing fatty liver disease and turned very yellow (he was all white). Finally he recovered and lived 5 years with the disease and being very large. His sister Sprinkles is large as well 15 lbs. Sebastian-10 lbs. (1yr old) Fluffy-8 lbs. (13 yrs. old) Haily-4.6 lbs. and Bailey 5.10 lbs. (5 month old kittens) Our Cat Joe (7 yrs. old) is very big but not fat if that makes sense and weighs about 20 lbs. We feed him 3 cans a day other wise he doesn't leave us alone.

Re: Cat owners: How much does your cat weigh?
one is about 9 and the other just making 7 (they were both about 6 when we got them almost 2 years ago) but they havent grown too much. We got them from a shelter and they were a bit older than kittens so we didnt know what to expect. But even though they weigh so little they still sure do eat like PIGS

Bob is about 8-9 pounds. She's so little compared to our friends cats (15-22 pounders) and they call her scrawny

I have a chubbo - 16 pounds. She is limited in what she eats. A combo of hairball formula and diet food. She has recently started eating the poor dogs food.
Here is a pic of her a few nights ago heling me make invitations.
Tiffany is 13.5 pounds, and Icarus is about 16 pounds. I hate getting the speech from the vet about having them lose weight- it is not like they are human and ypu can tell them to do so! They are both the friendliest cats in the world!

My boy is about 15 lbs.
I don't know where all the weight comes from!! We leave dry food out for him all day, but he only nibbles now and then...never finishes the cup or so I give him.

Re: Cat owners: How much does your cat weigh?
Well my Russian Blue had an ideal weight of 8.5 lbs. When I took him in to the vets (this was in Texas) he was a little under 14. Doc was not happy with me.
I used to give him very small amounts of dried food with a quarter can of wet food about every other day, at least 3 times a week. Then on the other days only small amount of dried food. You know those 'solo' drinking cups you find at water coolers? (not the shot glass size a little larger) I took them from my office. I wouldn't fill that, I'd bring the food to just the top line. I'd ONLY feed him in the morning as the LAST thing I did before leaving.
That was it. Once a day. Period.
He hated me for a few weeks. Thank god they're not known to be vocal cats. Every now and then he'd claw me or meow or even really pester me. After about a month he gave up. (short term memory?) He stopped hogging up his food so fast. After a while, I'd come home and find that he still had food left over like he was pacing himself. He stopped complaining and started to very slowly drop some poundage.
I did this all with my vet's knowledge. I had a GREAT vet who had known my cat since kitty age. He told me that the biggest problem was leaving his bowl constantly filled.
Now,... we have 'Buddy' FH's cat. FAT FAT cat. He's over 14lbs. No one wants to put him on a diet. Buddy's smart he'll act like he's starved to EVERYONE. So since so many people live in the house, each ones assumes the other hasn't fed him so they do. I guess he gets fed at least twice with large portions and all through the day with smaller stuff.

Edna, who just turned 15, is 6 pounds. She used to throw up a lot - we thought it was bulimia, but the vet says it's her thyroid and is now on medication. Finn, our 4-year old, tips the scales at 14 pounds. He is a big cat, but isn't fat. His paws are huge and he has thick legs. He runs around like a maniac!
