Catering Halls???

Original post by PP424

Okay, I absolutely love the Thatched Cottage, but I feel I want to see some more catering halls before we book there. Can anyone recommend catering halls that is a one wedding affair with that same feel as the Thatched Cottage (something by water or with a nice garden landscape)

idk what your numbers are, but the old field club is kinda like thatched cottage--north shore, on the water, classic looking. it is small tho.

Thank you. I heard it's beautiful, but one of our friends is getting married there 2 months after us, so we wouldn't want to take that away from her. But good choice. It's beautiful and I heard it is affordable too, which is a bonus.

Thank you. I'm so glad I read your review. I love the place so much and reading your review brought tears to my eyes. I still have to go back and read your whole review, I can't believe how beautiful your wedding looked and you stayed in your budget. YOu give me hope. We really want to stay in our budget too. Thank you so much. By the way, how many months before your wedding did you book the Thatched? And if you don't mind me asking, how much pp did you pay?

By the way you were a beautiful bride. I love your dress and your hair. What a beautiful day you had.

Oh, did you get prices for the Old Field??? I might look at that as back up (we're holding off on booking right away to save money)

Everyone says Giorgios but our church is in Greenlawn, so it's about an hour away from our church. How far away is your church or are you getting married at the catering hall?

Hi, Im new to the site!! I recently booked at The Thatched Cottage! The pictures on the website do not do it justice! I wasn't even going to go look after seeing the site but i figured what the hell. They are currently renovating as well. They are redoing the entire cocktail are to have a tuscany feel with fountains, a wishing well, wine racks and iron gates.. It looks BEAUTIFUL!! and they are also re-vamping the main (larger) reception room. When I dropped off my first payment they had just changed all the curtain. Already had my tasting and it was amazing! Its definitely worth negotiating the price but do it fast you dont want to lose out! I spoke to the Manager Andre through the whole process he is really sweet and really helpful! Good luck!! and congrats!

Oh thank you for your review. And congratulations on booking there. The Thatched Cottage is my favorite catering hall, and I too didn't want to see it at first, but once we went there I was in love. I wish FH would go with me to book it, but he wants to wait. I'm so nervous, I love that place.

How much did you get it for, if you don't mind me asking?

Thank You so much love!!! Im happy to hear I give you hope.. We are older and financially stable enough to pay if it ourselves...but we put all of our money into bonds that couldnt be touched just so we wouldnt go overboard!!! We are so glad we did!! Some may think its crazy...which I agree it is!!! I have a spontaneous and crazy personality...We booked everything 6 months before our wedding!!! And guess what?!! WE save THOUSANDS!!! We didnt waste our time or money on little things that people wouldnt notice...It worked out great for us!! I would do it again. We booked in one of the most expensive months SEPTEMBER and got winter prices AND we had the entire day to ourselves...we even got to choose the time we wanted to get married 4pm and everyone was able to leave at a reasonable 10pm!! It was great! I will fm you more details!
