Our church is making us do an interview, did anyone else have to do this and Pre Cana?
First I meet one on one with priest and then my FH... none of my sisters had to do this, but they were married out of state.

Re: Catholic Brides
What do you do if your FH isnt Catholic? My FH was raised Anglican, what happens then? We are getting married in a Catholic church and are meeting with a priest next week. What sort of questions do they ask? And is this interview the FOCCUS?

Re: Catholic Brides
the interview for us was not the FOCCUS....FOCCUS was just a set of questions (a little over 100, fill in scantron)....there are some extra sections, like if you've been married before, or if you live together (we had to fill that one out, i was so nervous about being lectured...but it was ok!) I think there might be a section if you are different faiths. as far as the interview, they just ask you a few questions and you will probably talk about, like if you have children, which religion you will raise them and such! good luck!

Yes. They have to ask you questions.. Like... are you entering into this freely? Do you have any convitions.. and so on.
Also remember. As stated above. This is not the FOCCUS. Not EVERY parish does the FOCCUS. It is a decision each parish makes. If you and Fh are different religions I think you need to say that you intend to raise the kiddos catholic

Yeah we met w/the priest one on one but it seemed basically like a formailty....nothing too crazy. It only took a few minutes each and he asked simple q's like occupation, do you have any debts your fh doesn't know about , etc.

Yes. It took like 10 mins with each of us. No big deal at all.

Re: Catholic Brides
We had to meet the deacon together to book the date. he asked us questions like 'have you been married before' and stuff like that. Nothing too formal though.
