Catholic Brides

For those getting married in a church... I was wondering when you found out the date of the rehearsal. We obviously have not done any planning for it yet, because we don't know when it will be. It is making me a bit nervous.

it depends. my church will only do it the night before the wedding. which i am okay with, i have an oot bm and for her to come in for the rehearsal a week before the wedding is ubsurd.

call your church and ask

I am a 'bad' example, b/c I am insanely anal about making sure as much as I can possibly do is already done! That said, we booked our rehearsal two days after we finished PreCana. I spoke with the Deacon and we booked it for the day before (a Saturday). I wanted a Saturday b/c I have a lot of OOT family/friends that will be involved in the rehearsal.

If I were you, I'd call the Deacon or Priest (the Monsignor marrying us told me to call the Deacon to schedule the rehearsal) and ask when you can schedule it. If you know now when you want it to be, by all means, schedule it. It's one thing you can cross off your list!

We asked when we went to file the paperwork with the church to get married IN the church. I think it was about 2 months after we got engaged. I would just ask them

Re: Catholic Brides

every church is different, the priest will let you know probably the week before the wedding, thats when my sister christina found out. My other sister was getting married at the reception hall so we didn't have a rehearsal. When your pre-cana is about to come to an end, ask your priest.
