I dont' think you tip the priest.... you are giving a donation to the church. we are giving our priests gifts...(one is a close friend and one i know well from the parish).

Re: catholic girls
We are using a priest from a different parish than we are getting married at. He has known me for years and that is why. We are planning on tipping him and inviting him to the reception. We are giving him $250. Like previously stated if he refuses we will donate it to a charity or etc.

Re: catholic girls
Our pre-cana couple told us you don't tip the priest anything (at least in our church). She said he'd actually be offended. We did invite him to our wedding though (although they had the church fair so he didn't go).

Re: catholic girls
We were told not to tip the parish priest in the materials the church gave us (we're not using their priest anyway).
FH's uncle is marrying us and since he's coming from Hawaii, we're paying for his hotel room the night before and the night of the wedding and are providing him transportation back to the airport (he's on the same flight as us).

None, he is a family friend, and actually a Francisan Friar who wouldn't accept a tip anyway!

Re: catholic girls
JMHO - it's your decision if you choose to give your priest a gift or not, we are because we are very grateful for the two priests that will be at our marriage.
We are practicing Catholics and know that priests aren't making great 'salaries'....they are teaching the word of God to all of us and I feel by giving them a gift and inviting them to our wedding it's the least we can do.

Re: catholic girls
Probably not tipping, but a gift perhaps. And we are inviting him to our reception.
