What type of flower arrangement will you be using for the Blessed Mother? I need ideas and have not one clue about this.

I thought it was always a small bouquet of red roses? I don't know though if that is correct.

Re: Catholic Girls...Question
Ang we had the florist put 6 red roses in a vase.
However I think a mix of pink and white is also nice.
We did this after the unity candle lighting. Also your florist should also know what is normally done. My florist told me it's norm for red roses so that's what I went with. LOL

So sorry - yes I was talking about the church ceremony. Sorry
So has everyone had the flowers in a vase or did anyone have a bouquet type deal?

During the ceremony (not sure which part) the bride and groom place flowers at the feet of the Vigin Mary (blessed mother). Maybe someone else can clarify which part of the ceremony this happens at?

I'm doing blue & white flowers (not sure what kind). I didn't know it was part of the ceremony. I was just going to have it placed there prior to the ceremony starting.

Re: Catholic Girls...Question
I am not doing this, not putting it down, just choosing not to do it. It is sort of like the unity candle- not 'officially' part of the ceremony, but has become popular in some areas. I saw this at a wedding when I lived out of state and it was the only time I had seen it done.

Me too. I've never heard of this. Everybody in my family got married at a catholic church.

We did a small bo-k, you can't ignore the Blessed Mother she made our weather perfect that day!
MY MOH even brought a bust of the MARY over the my parent's house and we left her facing outside for good luck and good weather especially since it was the end of hurricane season!
