What type of flower arrangement will you be using for the Blessed Mother? I need ideas and have not one clue about this.

I am not doing this, not putting it down, just choosing not to do it. It is sort of like the unity candle- not 'officially' part of the ceremony, but has become popular in some areas. I saw this at a wedding when I lived out of state and it was the only time I had seen it done.
We didn't do those either. Actually our priest said there was no need for it, unless you're getting married in May. He doesn't like to give the florists more $ than necessary

Since it's not really required, we didn't do it.

I have been to a million weddings and have never seen this before at the church! Is this something that has to be done? No one ever mentioned it to us before.

Me too. I've never heard of this. Everybody in my family got married at a catholic church.
During the ceremony the bride and groom bring a bouqet of roses and place it at the Blessed Mothers feet. Its a symbol of thanks for the blessings she has bestowed. Its usually done during the Ave Maria-I'm not sure what part exactly of the mass it happens. We are doing it, I thinks its a beautiful moment b/w bride and groom to reflect and realize the religious aspect of that day.

I am not going to do this, but I have seen it done. I am pretty sure the florist will be able t help you (if the church can't) figure out what type of flowers to use.

Never heard of or seen it, but I kinda like the idea. Something a little different. My Fi and I wanted a mass, but we don't have time. Church is at 11, cocktail hour starts at 12:30 - can't move either.
This might be a nice way to inject some a special little religious thing into a 20 minute ceremony. Thanks for the idea!!!

I have always seen white roses and that is what my florist told me to do also. We are doing a bouquet.

We're not doing it, though I think it is nice. Can't decide if I want to do a unity candle either.
