I am doing CD favors. I bought the actual CDs at Costco and the jewel cases off of ebay. I can tell you exactly who to buy them from if you choose to do that. So far, 150 favors has only cost me $100 but it's a lot of work!!!

We are doing it now!
It is a lot of work but they are coming out great! On the cover we have our kindergarden pics and our names underneath. Then when you open the cd,we bought the CD Stomper labeling kit(SAM's) for 19.95. They are stickers you can design, and stick to the cd, we put clouds on ours with the date and our name, and a thanks for coming message. The cd's we bought at K-Mart, 80 minute cd's a 20 pack for 14.99. We needed 100. Then we bought a cd recorder(FH had been wanting one anyway). We fit 19 songs on there. It is a total soundtrack. They are really coming out nice, and my sister works at Blockbuster so she is shrink wrapping them, so total for these favors is 100.00 then cd recorder, and we won't actually tell people that this cool, totally personal favor was $1 a piece!

We did...
20 songs Going to the Chapel (Dixie Cups) True Companion (Marc Cohn) Evertime I Close My Eyes (Babyface) I`ll Always Love You (Taylor Dayne) A Kiss to Build a Dream On (Louis Armstrong) Walk Forever By My Side (The Alarm) Unforgettable (Nat King Cole/Natalie Cole) Always & Forever (Heatwave) Have I Told You Lately (Van Morrison) My Girl (The Temptations) It Had to Be You (Harry Connick, Jr.) More Today Than Yesterday (Spiral Starecase) The First, The Last, My Everything (Barry White) Gimme Some Lovin` (Spencer Davis Group) Everybody Needs Somebody to Love (The Blues Brothers) Top of the World (Van Halen) How Sweet it is (James Taylor) Kind and Generous (Natalie Merchant) [This Will Be] An Everlasting Love (Natalie Cole) At Last (Etta James) This was done along with a donation to a charity. We received lots of compliments, people saying what a unique idea the CD and donation was. And we`re happy we did it. Making the jewel case inserts and labels was actually fun, and the software out there makes it simple. We used Neato.

We did this for our wedding in March...
...and they were a HUGE hit. We got 22 songs on a CD and I think it cost about $1-1.25 per CD (got the supplies at Staples). For anyone doing this, your guests will love it. We had a really fun mix of songs that we both love and called the CD 'Our Favorite Love Songs'. We really enjoy listening to it, it brings back some great memories of our wedding planning. Janice, being able to get them shrink wrapped is very cool. Happy planning everyone!!

Just a Suggestion...
I just remembered, and thought this would be a useful tip to pass along to anyone planning to do CDs. Try to find CDs that don`t have Black writing on the CDs, because there is a very good chance that will show through the labels you put on the CDs, especially if your labels are kept white, as ours were. Luckily, this problem only happened on a little less than half the CDs (since we had two different brands) and I used white out over the black type. It worked out well. We named our CDs 'Our Wedding Album' and we put the little CD Technology logo on the back cover along with the titles and artists of all the songs. The front cover was white, with a centered picture of sheet music and two gold rings on it, and flowers surrounding the sheet music. The title was above the picture in burgundy (our color) with a grey shadow, and our names and date were below the picture. The inside of the front cover had a description and picture of who the donation money went to, with a special little poem of thanks to our guests below. One other little touch, I used our last name with the word soundtrack, because all the songs on that CD were our special songs, like first dance, dedications, cake cutting, etc. And our night ended with the same two last songs on the CD. We had received cards and envelopes from the organization we donated to, and we used them as place cards, addressing the envelopes with the table numbers. We then took the stretchy gold rope and looped it around two corners of the donation cards which were placed on top of the CDs, so it was a neat little package for our guests to pick up. While our CDs didn`t work out as cheaply as the other girls here, I am glad we did them.

we did this for our 10-20 wedding. We got more complements on them from different people!! Just one word of advice for anyone that is thinking about doing this...make sure that you listen to all the cd's. We found a few that had not recorded and I am glad that my husband had listened to them before we wrapped them up. We had 20 songs on our cd. It really is a great idea!! Lisa
