Centerpiece Help...IVY TOPIARIES IN STONE FINISH Alabaster POTS?
I was thinking about buying these centerpieces and then add the flowers and all the other details to it. One seller told me this would not be appropriate for a centerpiece, but another said it would be fine. Do any of you ladies have any info on this type of centerpiece and whether you think it would be appropriate? What do you ladies think about adding flowers and other details to this? Thanks.
P.S.- It's not an actual stone pot, but made of stone like material call alabastrite. I'm not sure what this is, but I'm gonna try and look it up.

I think that it is really pretty and unique. Some flowers added would be nice too. Although I am not good with flowers so I don't know what kinds to add. But I like the pots and the ivy.

i think its adorable!!! and i think that if it is what you love, then you should go with it. i think that its simple and elegant... if you add flowers to it, i think it might take away from the simple beauty of it... JMO

They are also really, really inexpensive. I found this one site where each one is $6.50. I'm not good w/ flowers either and have to see what goes well w/ it.

I may just add a few flowers to it...but not over-do it...it's already simple and elegant as you mentioned...I just don't want it to look like a green ball on each table...lol...I have to play around w/ it a bit though.

no... i think that would be cute.. it would add just a little bit, but not take away from the main part of your CP.. esp if you did something like tealights and white rose petals... the petals will match the candles... so it would look consistent... w/ the whole simple elegance can you tell that we're ALL ABOUT simple elegance for our weddings?!

LMAO . Your sooo right...simple elegance, yeah right! That's what you start w/ and then it becomes...let's add this and that and those, etc...Lol. It's funny everytime I saw one of those high centerpiece it was like, 'o.k., this is simple and elegant at the same time'...$200 a centerpiece IMO is not simple at all...lol.

hahaha when i say simple i mean 'easy on the wallet' yet elegant enoug for my guests that they wont know the difference
seriously, with just a little research, i've found the more inexpensive version of almost everything!!!
yet, still cant afford this freakin' wedding

I like it the way it is -- simple elegance is always a winner.

LOL...When I saw the price of each I couldn't believe it. If I were a guest and saw these centerpieces I would think they cost $$$, but little do they know that each would end up costing me $6.50 w/o including the flowers. What my guests don't know won't hurt them AND won't cause me to file CH. 11 (bankruptcy).
It's funny, everything I look at seems so extravagent to everyone else, but to me...I always say it's simple....I have lost the concept of 'simple'...lol...

I need to ask the company I'm gonna buy them from whether the Ivy is fake or real...What do you think? I assume it's fake. Thanks...I'm so excited cause I really, really like the way it looks. There is not much to be done....AND ONLY $6.50 EACH...

why not ask the florists on the vendor boards for their thoughts? I think it would look nice if flowers were added and tealights surrounded the base. How large is this CP?

That's a good idea..I'll ask the florists on this board. The description that I got said: 'Add a touch of nature to your home with this ivy topiaries each in a stone-finish, alabastrite pot of classic design. Each measures approx. 12 3/4' high. This makes a wonderful addition to your home or garden decor. '
The only thing I have to see is whether 12 3/4'high is the height of the vase...I hope so. I don't think that the entire thing would be that high or else it wouldn't look so nice. I actually just ordered one and should receive it by Sat.. Keeping my fingers crossed. I really hope I'd be able to do something w/ it. I'll post what it really looks like once I get it.
