Anyone having a non-denominational ceremony? FH and I are of different religious backgrounds....we were totally in agreement on non-denom... but people keep putting their two cents in and now he's trying to add some of the religious elements in and I'm against it. I really hate hearing '___'s son had this.' I don't care what ____'s son had!!!

Re: Ceremony
I am Jewish and my FH is catholic.
We are having a judge marry us. We have decided the add some things from each to the ceremony.
And I hate when people stick their two cents in about what we should be doing!

Re: Ceremony
It's your wedding day, your moment. do what you want! I hate people who have to input on a memory that isn't theirs....

Re: Ceremony
Yea we were totally fine with a judge and his mom was begging me to want a priest so she could have her rabbi. We had decided none of either religion would be bettter than having parts of our ceremony we didn't understand.
HIs mom was like I want to walk him down the aisle. So he said fine and I didnt care because it was very minor. Now he decided he wants to break the glass. I definitely don't have any catholic traditions to counteract that with. Everyday it feels like he's adding more because someone else told him he should. It irks me because I'm very against doing what other people do. I want it to be our own but he keeps saying, well maybe they are right, and we should revisit the idea. No one is right but us!!

I know exactly where you're coming from... FH is jewish and i'm catholic.. neither one of us is religious and neither one of us really cares about religion yet everyone puts in their 2 cents.. sooo I have found the best way to deal with this is to say 'sure, I will take that into consideration' and proceed to do as I please.
Keep in mind it is YOUR and FH's day! do it your way!
