If your ceremony is at the same place your reception is, when are you doing your rehearsal dinner?
Major drama with my mother right now regarding this.
FMIL wants do it Thursday night, mom wants to do it Friday night. Wedding is Saturday night.

Ceremony same place as reception?
Our ceremony is at our venue, we are not having a rehearsal dinner though. We have a very small BP, only maid of honor and best man, so we will probably take them, their SO and parents to dinner the night before but it won't be a rehearsal dinner.

My ceremony will be the same place as my reception but my banquet manager said the rehearsal is only done on the morning of the wedding so it makes no sense for us to have a rehearsal dinner.
If it was possible to do a rehearsal I would think 2 days before, so Thursday. Only because most venues have weddings on fridays and you would need to have the place to yourself to rehearse. Also you might be busy/anxious the night before your wedding and would want to get a good nights rest.

My ceremony is at the same place as my reception as well. I am so trying to get out of a rehaersal dinner because it is turning into another wedding. I was under the impression it was parents of the bride and groom and bridal party. However it is turning in to a huge dinner and I am not sure what is there to rehearse anyway? Ring bearer, parents of the groom, bridal party walks down the aisle, bride walks down the aisle with her father or loved one and you say I Do. Or am I wrong? I know that I am going to be anxious the day before and really do not want to have it then let alone at all =/

Yes. Our rehearsal will be right before our wedding, but with regards to giving out bridal party gifts and thanking everyone. We want to do it Thursday. If we do it Friday my mother wants every out of town guest invited. I feel that if we do this, it takes away from the intimacy of the small 'thank you' dinner I have been calling it.

We are getting married on a Friday, and our doing our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner at the venue on Thursday. They have a small pub upstairs where we are having it just for parents, bridal party, person doing the reading during the ceremony, and the officiant (because he is my uncle). In total, it will be 20-30 people max.

My ceremony is at my venue and we also only have a best man and MOH as well and I'm sure we will do something similar.

Although our ceremony is at the church we decided to do it the day before but to make it more of a lunch. I want no part of being up late the night before and most of our wedding party is coming from out of town so we thought that Friday would be cutting it to close with time and I hate to ask people to stay yet another night in a hotel if it can be avoided...
