Ceremony site other than church or temple? Please help.
I have posted before but haven't found a place yet to have our ceremony. We are having an interfaith ceremony on a Friday night in April of 2003. Our reception will be at Fox Hollow. We both would like to attend the cocktail hour, therefore we would like to have the ceremony someplace other than Fox Hollow so that we have time in between to take pictures. We have looked into CW Posts Interfaith Chapel, but didn't love it. Does anyone have any other suggestions on a specific place to have the ceremony? Have any of you attended a wedding on Long Island in a place other than reception site/church/temple. I'm thinking maybe a room in a hotel that can be booked for an hour or so, or a VFW or Knights of Columbus Hall, or some other place. Anyone have any suggestions of a nice room that can be prettied up for a ceremony? Do you think any of the above would rent the room for such a short amount of time? I really feel we should find a place soon since that is the most important part of the day. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. THANKS

Mishy Have you looked in the Historical Chapel in Woodbury? It is very close to the Fox Hollow and is non-denominational as well. I was married there last year.

Actually I have looked into it. My FH feels it seems just like a church and thinks his family may be uncomfortable with that, so we have to go another route. Thanks for the info though. :)

We had the same problem. We decided to hold the ceremony at the reception cite (Pt Jeff CC) & just take most of teh pictures before hand. Although it bothers me a little that we'll see each other before, but it was the best we could come up with. I'm not familiar with the area around Fox Hollow, but we considered public parks. I think its warm enough in April & you could get a tent in case of rain. Good luck.

Vanderbilt Planetarium...in centerport
I am having my ceremony at my site (to be honest it is just easier and we are taking pictures before hand), but I did think about having the ceremony at the Planetarium...very nondenominational.

Vanderbilt answer.
I grew up in that town and its just such a great mansion...(It was used as the drug dealers house in crocodile dundee 2) for just ceremony, I THINK the site fee was $1000. then I think it was an additional $5000 for the reception site fee...in addition to catering... I found this number (631)854-5544 but I don't recognize the 854 as an exchange in the area...if it doesn't work, try 631-754-5544 or see if its in the phone book.. happy planningWelcome New Vendors
