You should have music. The DJ can hook you up

Re: CH Music - Yes or No?

I didn't. Our CH was outdoors at the reception hall, and a fountain was part of the grounds. Live stationary musicians (like a string trio or quartet) would have been drowned out by the water and the site prohibited amplified music, so recordings were out of the question. I suppose a strolling violinist would have been feasible, but I decided not to bother. I think it went fine.

When I have attended weddings, I didn't think any worse if there was no CH music. I'm busy socializing and noshing. If it's already included in the price of your package with with musicians, yeah, why not? If it's extra, look at your budget and decide from there.

We're not havin any CH music. I asked the guy at Jericho Terrace and he said most people don't, and if they do nobody really notices it. So we figured why spend the $$. I have a lot of friends who play instruments, but i'm sure they'd rather be at the free bar than preforming

Hmm I am taking a jazz class this semester tho... maybe i could get a student to come play the sax, a sax WOULD be cool

OK lots of good information- our CH is outside on the beach...so maybe it won't be an issue. Honestly, it wasn't even a thought it my mind- just a little debate.

As i was having the convo i was saying i don't really care if we have it or not, but I KNOW people do!

Oh RH lets us pick any CD's we want, and they will play it over the speakers during the hour for us

Our DJ is providing music for our CH. If it wasn't part of the package, I was going to have our RH pipe in appropriate music.

Personally I think that even though everyone will be talking and mingling, they will notice if there isn't background noise such as music of some sort. We will probably play instrumental jazz for a livelier sound.

Change my answer to yes My Jazz professor took the job for $125! He's gonna play the sax for an hour.

He's young and looks like an abercrombie model and I've been wanting to fix him up with one of my bridesmaids but had no way of introducing them since I only see him in class.. when I'm his student...

So that makes this twice as good! Of course I have no idea if he has a gf...

Our band is including a keyboard player for the cocktail hour so that is what we are going with.

I will also have music at the CH. Even if everyone is talking over it I think it's a nice touch.

I'm not having music played during CH. FH figured it wasn't worth it since alot of people many not show up for CH.
