The groom's tux is free, as long as 3 of the groomsmen rent their tuxes from the same place.
I bought my veil on ebay for $20 with shipping. Value Veil
FH is buying his tux and knowing him, it wont be cheap i told him if it costs more than my dress i'll kill him i understand why he wants to buy it though and he's going to have alterations so it fits perfect - hes going to look so handsome so i dont care
i def got to look into ebay for veils though!!!! thats a great way to save money....
i need cheap favors too i was thinking maybe if we do the bagel give away at the end of the night (JT does this) that can be our favor - i might try switching one of our upgrades to the bagels instead....or does the bagel not count as a good enough 'favor'?
I think the bagel favor is great and I've heard other people talk about it too on how great it was. I've never been to a wedding that did that, but I would have to assume that everyone loves free food!

it will be the BEST wad of cash you ever spend! Just enjoy it
thats what my mom says - she did the big wedding thing - i think her wedding cost like 20K so that was a pretty expensive wedding for back in the 80s - and she says that it was a blast and if we can afford it then to just do it - we only live once but now that we are looking to get this house im like its funny, because im not regretting it - thats the embarrasing part - im freaked out but its what i want - i am SICK SICK SICK in the head

Why are you making me think of $$
I think we'll be at about $30-$35K when all is said and done.

Re: Cha-Ching!
Most of ours is paid for already (with the exception of the vendor balances and HM & RH final count balance) and every so often I wonder what else we could be doing with that money. Fact of the matter is 'you have one chance to do it, do it right' I don't want to have any regrets.
Don't forget to add in your BP & GM's gifts too

I completely understand! I think I'm going to faint when we give JT our last payment. Sometimes I wish we would've opted for a longer engagement. It's just shocking how much things are when you attach the word 'wedding' to it. It's like the price goes up by 50%. It's a catch 22 we want all these things to make our day beautiful and personal...but at the same time it's like OMG .

Re: Cha-Ching!
dont worry about spending $$ on useless things like oot bags or expensive favors. seriously your guests wont even know the difference and but it'll make a nice difference in your pocket. i think when planning a wedding we get carried away with unnecessary things that just make us have to dish out more and more money. diy as much as you can and you'll save alot. we spent most of our $$ on vendors, mainly on photo and dj cuz that was most important to us. cuz i cut cost on other things i was able to get my expensive room lighting. you just have to really pick and choose what you want and whats necessary.

Re: Cha-Ching!
I was totally into having an elaborate wedding, and now I am stuck. I booked all the vendors and have all this debt. I spent over 10k in enterntainment alone. Now that we bought the house we are really second guessing all our decisions. I don't know how much we spent, but I know I will be completely over what I wanted to spend. Plus my parents and FH parents are paying the RH- that was a huge help!

luckily we have been paying them off in big chunks - well FH pays them so i guess it ***** for him to hand them a few thousand dollars every other month but at least its not like handing them 20K or something like that at the end - that would suck! i still dont know how he bought my e-ring - i HATE parting with a big stack of money all at once i guess because i am a money hoarder - i love saving money, just knowing its there, i love that feeling - i hate taking money out of my savings or giving large amounts of money all at once ugh when we have to give the downpayment for our house - oh god - they are going to have to fight me for it
