Maybe I am weird but I have real issue with chairs at reception venues. I am just starting to look and if the chairs look cheap or tacky then I am turned off of the venue. Anyone else have this issue?

Re: Chair Issues
I don't have any issues with my chairs. Which RH is this? Maybe they really are not that bad.

I don't want to name names because it is an otherwise beautiful place. Maybe I am just being super picky. I guess I just have this vision in my head of what my perfect day would be like, lol.

Re: Chair Issues
i haven't seen too many RH chairs that i was blown away by, although i don't think i put much weight in it. I know that when you're putting hundreds of chairs into these rooms, they aren't going to be the most luxurious pieces of furniture i've ever seen. i HAVE seen chairs that were just horrendous, but it really didn't have an affect on my thoughts of the place.

Re: Chair Issues
I didnt like the chair covers that are in our ball room, but i loved the chivari chairs that are in the cocktail hour room, so I asked the manager if we could have those chairs instead and he said yes!
Crisis solved!

I am a bridezilla about a few things and sadly chairs were one of them.
I hate chair covers so that was out. I loved the delicate metal chairs many halls have, and I don't like the rounded fabric ones others have. Luckily the hall I booked has the kind of chairs I like!
I also like as much floor as possible because I think most halls have ugly casino-like carpet....

YES! I love the North Ritz Club's chairs. Maybe that's why I never had an issue. Because I went to North Ritz and booked on the spot.

Yeah I couldn't understand what was up with the chairs... but I like the one at my RH.
What really bugged me were the rugs!!! Every place I saw had tacky flower patterned rugs that just looked so out dated.
Maybe I am really picky too? LOL

the chairs at my RH are okay, i guess. i'm totally with you on the casino carpet. catch 22? i hate the grandiose marbel floors too--all that glamor just isn't me AT ALL. i wish these places would just put down some hardwood floors, lol. i didn't see that anywhere.

Re: Chair Issues
I was very picky when choosing my RH. See, the chairs in the pics at North Ritz Club... I was turned off by those when I checked out the 15 places on my list. But hey, we all like / dislike different things. Just that when I saw the chairs at Giorgio's I thought, 'Wow, those are nice. I don't even need covers for them!'
But it wasn't just the chairs I have issues with... I am picky about the ceilings too, lol.
So.... was anyone else looking at the ceilings? Some like high ceilings, some like low. Some like chandeliers, others it doesn't matter...
I just feel very lucky that everything I was picky about, I was able to find at my RH.

Re: Chair Issues
Come rhs include chair covers. I know Westbury Manor does, not sure about where else. There's an 08 bride whose mom posts a lot, debismom I think. She posted about how they bought chair covers for less than you would rent them for. Another option I guess...

Re: Chair Issues
I agree with the carpet problem! There were a few halls we checked out where the carpet was old or worn and just looked plain nasty. I understand they have a ton of parties at these places, but one hall in particular looked so worn that on the stairs it was basically white...the normal carpet color was a dark greenish color!

NRC is beautiful and everything feels so nice clean and new! That was one of our choices but it was a little out of our price range
