Lately I have been doing alot of thinking about contracts, what was agreed to and things like that (you start doing alot of thinking when you cant use the computer during work anymore!!) I am finding this topic very interesting lately lol So, what is the policy/standard is if you decide to remove things from the contract after it was already signed...Do they give you a hard time? Is it easier to do when there is still plenty of time before the wedding? What is everyone else's thoughts on this??

Re: Changing contracts??
i dont know how well it would go. I made certain that i put in contracts what I knew I could afford and knew that I could always add on later.

I think it depends on the venue you booked. They will do whatever it takes to make you happy and will work with you. Definitely try to work something out with them.

Re: Changing contracts??
I know I was able to change the date at my RH and get almost the same price for a May date instead of April with the contract signed and everything, and this was under a year till the wedding. my BM also kept the pymnts the same and with same dates (something I felt comfortable with). So, I guess everything is negotiable. just ask them - in the worst case they will just say no.

i think once you add to a contract you can't take off - that is why people always say wait to the last minute to add things

A lot of halls told me this too: you can always add but you can't take off from a contract.

i was also told the same thing. we can basically upgrade our entire menu up until 2 weeks before the wedding but we can't remove anything from it

yeah, unfortunately, some halls will charge you more when you try to add on later. when my sis got married, she decided after they signed the contracts to add a seafood boat and they charged her more than they were quoted when they were negotiating originally.
if you are trying to add on, do your best to make sure they don't try to do that to you!

I was posing this as a general question. Been wondering alot about what the policies are...Also, I was only thinking vendors, I honestly didnt even think about the RH contracts!!
I'm pretty sure that if its in the contract you have to pay for it - whether you change your mind or not...

i guess it depends on the vendor. i called up my photog months ago and asked them to remove 3 parent albums and add on a 2nd photographer instead...they didnt even question it

yeah something like this probably wouldn't be a problem if you are doing a somewhat even exchange
