How many of you have put a deposit down on a hall, had second thoughts about it, and started looking again??
Did anyone cancel a contract? How much $$ did you lose, if any???

Re: Changing the hall!?!?!?
sorry, can't help you. as soon as I walked in the SMCC i knew that's where I wanted it. After the deposit was official, I stopped looking around to assure myself of any second guessing.

I haven't, but I know that Amy on BHB has had this happen to her.

You will most likely lose your deposit. I would read through your contract, there's probably a cancellation clause in there.

totally agree. after we booked it, we stopped looking at halls and went after the photo/video people.

Re: Changing the hall!?!?!?
It depends on the place.
In my contract, my contract is contingent upon the food tasting, so if I taste the food and on't like it, I can cancel and get 100% back. If I cancel and they rebook the date for a less expensive affair, they keep whatever deposits Ive already given them up to the difference, if they rebook a similar or mose expensive affair, then I only lose $100.

wELL I heard that in Suffolk County you have 90 days or something and you can get your deposit back...check on the BHB board about that there was some kind of post about it. I think you would most likely loose your deposit.
Are you having second thoughts???

Re: Changing the hall!?!?!?
I'm only having second thought about my hall. They are starting MAJOR renovations in January. Our wedding is in May. They say they'll definately finish in time, but do I want to take that chance??
