They're definitely not necessary, however I'm grappling with the same thing.....I know I don't need them, but I really want them!!
i feel ya! I want gold ones but i dont know if i should spend more money. ugh
In this case, being that it will be stations of food I wouldn't say chargers are necessary. Because as silly as it seems some people might get confused and think the charger is the plate that they have to bring up to the stations. And then you might have people lining up with the decorative plate! Lol so it's just simpler (and cheaper) to do without it.
I went to a wedding 2 weeks ago, the chargers were set up when we walked in and the waiters came over and immediately removed them when we sat down. Not sure if it was just the place...or if they usually do that. But, I wanted them also until I saw that happened- so not worth the money if that's always the case!!!
