charity as favor

charity as favor

We would like to make a donation to a health organization as the favor. Every time I read a post it says that they have made the donation in memory of_____. I do not know any one who has passed from an illness (Thank God), but my mother has Multiple Sclerosis and one of my friends was just diagnosed with Leukemia. Is this donation/charity in memory of someone who has passed?

In honor of XXX is how it's usually phrased if hte person is still living.

Also - you could skip naming people and just say - 'rather than a traditional favor, we have chosen to provide a donation to a XXX, which is a cause near and dear to our heart.'

givng to charity is a wonderful thing to do and doesnt have to be in memory of anyone it can just be about you and your fh doing something good. I know st. jude's childrens hospital has a section on their site specifically for wedding gifts and favors...maybe the charities you had in mind have something silimar?
