Re: Chateau briand

Hello fellow CB brides, I will be having my wedding there in 52 days They just sent me a letter stating that its time to select our cocktail hour menu, our main menu, linens, do seating chart and choose our cake. Ladies I do not have the foggiest idea about wedding cake My only requirement of a good cake is that its soft and sweet, so now the taste hunt begins to know what we will choose.

Good luck to you both and happy planning. What rooms did you select. We have the Normandy and the Europa

We will be getting married there on 3-28-04! We are so excited , by the seating chart do you mean who is going to sit where or do they make you up a fancy chart and post it? We are in the Saturnia room and the cocktail hour is attached to the room. There is such a selection of food, my uncle keeps teasing me and my Fh that we need to give out Pepto Bismol shaped in hearts with out names on it! Please let me know how it all goes, especially the actual wedding as well as the food picking, etc. We are going there for dinner at the end of the month. Actually it is dinner on them, did you do that? Where are your out of towners staying? Sorry for all the questions, I am just excited and curious!

Re: Chateau briand

My FH and I are getting married in the chapel at Chateau Briand. It is very pretty and I like the idea that the aisle is short! My biggest fear is that I have something stuck in my teeth or that I trip on my dress. LOL I am sure it will not happen, but I started having the occassional nightmare! Has anyone else had those nightmares??? We are not coming out of the floor, but I am begining to think that is a good idea, because you do not have to run into the room when you are announced.
Camielle, they let you try all three dishes there???
What else have you tried there?
Who is everyone using for vendors?

I am a chateau Briand bride also. I am getting married 8/9/02. In less than 2 months. We are also going over our menu selections next month. We have the Normandy and the Europa rooms. Although I am thinking about having the cocktail in the garden area.

I am also a CB Bride. I booked based on the glowing recommendations that they received on many of these boards. It was alos the one place that made my FH's face light up. Since we have booked the CB he has been very excited about getting married and has been a lot more affectionate.

I am getting marriend at CB on November 3. We looked at so many other places, but were most impressed with Chateau. We are using Normandly and Europa. If its not too cold, we will be having our ceremony in the garden.

Camille that's my birthday!! You chose a wonderful day Any of you ladies visited the outside ground area besides the main entrance? I didn't get a chance to and even though it isn't much, I prefer to take outside pictures there than to spend money somewhere. Well in hopes in early March '04 there is good weather. I am in the Saturnia for cocktail and DaVinci for the reception. I just received my first notice for the payment that is due. I can't wait to get the cake, linen notice. I have aways to go. Good Luck to you all CB Ladies!! Please post your reviews after your wedding. Enjoy your day!

Did anyone get seat covers? They never discussed any of the upgrades when we signed the contract. Did any of you do so before the contract was signed? I am wondering about seat covers. Actually my mom keeps talking about it!

Re: Chateau briand

No I am not considering seat covers. I looked at t he chairs when I was there and they are pretty nice. They really don't need coverings.

Re: Chateau briand

Hello CB brides, we were worried about flies and the freshness of the food if we had the CH outside so we are sticking with the Europa. Our wedding is in 49 days Aug 3, 2002 We have never been outside, but when I spoke with my BM last week he said they had a small outdoor garden. Our photographer said that the garden is doable for the BP pix or the family pix, you can always use the studio too. The entire building is beautiful. We cannot have our CH outside anyway b/c we are having steel pan players for the CH and the noise from the street would be distracting.

We go to set our menu, select our linen and cake and do the seating chart next week I am so nervous about our cake selection, I do not know anything about these flavors. I will definitely do a review after the big day

We are having our ceremony elsewhere. We were going to do chaircovers at first but it is absolutely not necessay, the chairs are fine and the colors go so nicely with the room. We are going to Old Westbury Gardens to do our formals

Our vendors are:

Photo & Video - Imagine Studios
DJ - Entertainment Integrators
Flowers- Flowerden
Tux- Zeller Tuxedo
Limo - Royalty
My Dress is from RK Bridal
My girls dresses are Jim Hejlm purchased from Lestans in Bklyn

Good luck to all and happy planning

Re: Chateau briand

Shamma96- I am getting married the following week after you at the CB. We are also taking our formals at Old Westbury Gardens. I have an appointment for 6/26 to go over final menu selections. We are going to go with the Bannana/Strawberry filling for our cake.

Did you ask about cake design. Can you show them the design you want or do they have a book of designs that you choose from?

Our BM is Lisa....

Re: Chateau briand

I am bringing this cake I hope they can duplicate it for me. I hope they are flexible. I am going to this place in the city to do some cake tasting b/c I do not know anything about these flavors. Are you taking your BP with you to the garden??

I have a friend who wants to check it out--the floor idea is really cool!
Does anyone have any pictures??? Or do they have a website with pictures?
Any info would be great!

Re: Chateau briand

Wow! Shamma96 that is a beautiful cake!!! I would ask if they can duplicate it, becuase the cake is included in the price. Let me know what happens!

Re: Chateau briand

Leelee,
I just took my friend there and she booked the place the same day. Tell your friend to shop around and go to the CB to see the place for herself, that way she can compare to others.
Are any of you CB upcoming brides having your formals in the afternoon or evening? I would love to know and pls post after your weddings !!1

Thnc Camille
